We all think about stuff like this from time to time,

I don’t think I can do this anymore, I guess I’m not in control.

I feel like everything is spiralling — I feel out of control. My emotions get the best of me .

And yeah, to some extent, you’re right.

Our external factors are not in our control.

We cannot control an earthquake, or an angry manager or an angry mom (God, an angry mom is no joke..)

What we can control, is our reaction to both of these things.

The only thing that we can control in this world is our reaction.

We can either raise our voice or lower it. We can hit someone or let that fist drop.

The best superpower is Emotional Intelligence.

Knowing what to say, when to say and how to say it.

For example, you have an argument with your mother. And you know, that interacting will make it worse.

But you just can’t stop hurling insults after insults.

And after your whole crying fiesta, you realise this could have been easily avoided.

By keeping your mouth shut.

It’s at these times when you have to get out of the victim mindset.

I understand how hard Covid has been on us. I understand how hard productivity is, after years of staying at home.

But excuses will only go so far.

We have got to hold ourselves accountable.

Make that plan for the weekend, write that book you want to.

Write those articles on medium, learn your lessons.

Be kinder to your mother, stop responding and reacting to every single argument.

And watch how you transform from an angry husk to a successful, peaceful person.

Life will only give you so many chances, get in the driver seat right now.

It’s time to drive your car.
